This park is so clean, quiet, and beautiful!! There are lots of birds!! The sunset over the lake, with birds diving down to the water was such an amazing sight!! We camped at site 53, which has an amazing view of the sunrise over the lake. Site 54 has the best view. The hiking trails are lovely and well marked!! I heard the fishing is great, too!! The ants are are rampant, so bring insect repellent!!
We love this park. Just an hour east of Dallas but you feel so much further away. Tons of places close by to eat or bring your own food and cook on the grill. The water was perfect and they have an actual beach area with a sand bar that goes out at least a hundred yards. We even caught several catfish from the bank. We'll be back for sure.
Nice park. Friendly staff. I like the trails and there's a swimming area with a sandy beach. You won't like it if you don't like swimming in murky water with various aquatic plants touching you.
Very nice State Park. I was just stopped for the night as I traveled to my destination. Having arrived on a weekday after Labor Day, it was basically empty! I love it when I feel like I have the entire place to myself! Paved RV site with ample and well maintained electric and water. Showers are private (able to lock the door behind you) and well maintained. Park was also well kept. I would stay here again for a longer duration the next time!
Great customer service @ entrance. The park is immaculate! No trash. No evidence of fishing tackle. Absolutely clean restrooms and the appearance of park is beautiful.
